FIRST
AID FOR YOUR FLOOR
- You
may remove adhesive, chewing gum, crayon, candle wax, and
similar type substances by applying ice until it becomes brittle
enough to crumble off. The residue may be removed with mineral
spirits.
- For
extra deep heel marks, caster marks, etc., rub with #000 extra
fine steel wool dampened with a Halstead Vinyl Floor Cleaner.
Then touch up with Halstead Finish.
- For
moderate to heavy stains caused by long-standing water or
other non-dye liquids, rub with an undiluted Halstead Vinyl
Floor Cleaner.
- For
dark spots caused by ink or other chemicals, follow instructions
in No. 2. Then touch up with Halstead Finish. If this is not
successful, the affected tiles should be replaced.
- For
animal and diaper stains, follow instructions in No. 2.
- Cigarette
burns: If burns are not deep, then procedure No. 2 above will
often remove them. If very deep then the affected tiles should
be replaced.
